It seems like we keep coming back to the Bombard Commando line on this blog and it’s no secret the Bombard Commando is one of our favorites but we aren’t the only ones. Users who want a good performing boat that will take a bit of power seek us out and have us build them a custom setup like the one featured here.
In this iteration IBC’s Special Boat Division builds a Bombard Commando C5 Jet with an arch and IBC Spec.Boat.Div. bottom mods that keep the C5 on it’s course and protects it from hard impacts during rescues in swift and skinny water. Sure this boat still performs exceptionally well in calm deep water and in the blue water it was designed for but the added mods make this one hard to beat in any situation.
The intended purpose is to expand the capabilities of a fire/rescue group in their area of growing water borne rescue. IBC has done this and done it in spades as much of the tech that you don’t see in these pics was developed during the early years of Ron’s inflatable boat racing career. Running thru the surf zones in Africa and far away islands led to one tactic and crushing the white water in places like the Peyette River in Idaho brought about still more advances. The people who use these boats we build all swear by them and proclaim it’s one of the best tools in their box.
Other uses for a setup like this are fishing and hunting guides in the Northern Territories, oil platforms in South and Central America, law enforcement, surfing, diving, crabbing, fun, etc. Basically if you need to draw a minimum of water and carry a goodly amount of power while still being able to load up a ton of cargo your options drop off precipitously. The Bombard Commando handles all of this and more and for a limited time (until December 24th) all Bombard inflatable boats are on sale at IBC. Don’t wait until next year and pay more, get your Bombard Commando today and go big on the water!
